PRAIRIE VIEW MUNICIPALITY UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF THE PLANNING ACT NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT

Prairie View Municipality, under the authority of The Planning Act, will hold a PUBLIC HEARING at the below listed location, date, and time during which the Council will receive written or verbal representation from any persons who wish to make them in respect to the following application matter:

PRAIRIE VIEW MUNICIPALITY BY-LAW NO. 2025-08 being an AMENDMENT to the PRAIRIE VIEW MUNICIPALITY ZONING BY-LAW NO. 2018-15, as amended.

DATE & TIME: February 10, 2026, 9:00 am (0900 h)

HEARING LOCATION: Prairie View Municipality Council Chambers located at 678 Main Street, Birtle, MB

PROPOSAL: To amend parts, sections, subsections, and bulk standard tables of the existing Zoning By-law 2018-15. Rezoning of Crandall and Birtle properties.

SECTIONS AFFECTED: Parts 2, 3, 4, and 6, plus

Table 3.3 – Use & Site Requirements: “GD” General Development Zone

Table 3.4 – Use & Site Requirements: “RR” Rural Residential Zone

Table 3.8 – Use & Site Requirements: “CC” Commercial Central Zone

Table 3.9 – Use & Site Requirements: “CH” Commercial Highway Zone

Table 3.10 – Use & Site Requirements: “MG” Industrial General Zone

Map 2: As shown in Schedule “A2”

– Birtle rolls 1350 & 1360 east of HWY 83, south of Queen Street be rezoned from dual zones of “CH” Commercial Highway Zone and “AG” Agricultural General Zone to be all “AG” Agricultural General Zone.

– Birtle roll 52580 be rezoned from dual zones of “RS” Residential Serviced Zone and “OR” Open Space / Recreational Zone to be all “RS” Residential Serviced Zone.

– The entire “GD” General Development Zone in Crandall between NW -35-13-25W and NW-36-13-25W be rezoned from “GD” General Development Zone to “RR” Rural Residential Zone.

The current Zoning By-Law and a copy of the original amendment proposal and maps are available for review and download.

UPDATE: Feedback was received from Community Planning from a circulation review. The feedback from MB Agriculture was incorporated into the amendment proposal. This updated amendment proposal will be the document that will be used for the public hearing.


A copy of the above amendment proposal and supporting material may be inspected at the Mid-West Planning District office during normal business hours. Copies may be made, and extracts taken there from, upon request.
